Greetings And Happy Spring To All Classmates and Visitors. Updated March 22, 2012.
Welcome to the 1961 Class of Montclair High School, located in Montclair, New Jersey. We all graduated on June 15th 1961, with the guys in white sport coats and the gals in various pastel colored dresses - quite different from the traditional caps and gowns seen so often today.
Reunions - Well our 50th reunion has come and gone. Held the weekend of October 14th, 15th & 16th of 2011, those who were able to make it had a great time reconnecting with friends from so long ago.
A number of reunions have been held, typically at 5 and/or 10 year intervals. The most recent reunion (our 45th) was held on September 30th , 2006 at the Commonwealth Club in Upper Montclair. 85 to 100 people attended this reunion from various locations across the USA. A number of classmates are now retired from their many occupations, and many more are comtemplating this next chapter in their lives. Just about all of us have reared a family, and many of us now have grandchildren to enjoy.
Spring Is Here - And admid the construction of the new gym & auditorium, our thoughts in 1961 turned to our soon Graduation in the Amphitheatre.
Our class looses another member - We just learned that Linda Taylor (Barnes) passed away on Sunday afternnon, July 2, 2011, at her home following a fourteen month battle with brain cancer.
